Big Orbit and The Toronto Child Abuse Centre - Helping Kids on their Way to Court!
Toronto, ON - May 12, 2000 - Big Orbit and The Toronto Child Abuse Centre have developed a valuable online resource for kids who have to go to court.
The "What's My Job in Court" website, which can be seen at http://www.tcac.on.ca/courthouse, has been developed by Big Orbit with the intent of helping kids understand what they can expect when venturing into the courtroom. Many of the kids using the site have been victims of abuse and must appear in court to testify.
The site will be used as a tool for several different groups including the Ministry of the Attorney General, social workers, lawyers, and the government.
Karyn Kennedy, Programs Coordinator at the Toronto Child Abuse Centre, comments, "Big Orbit's knowledge with regards to new media and young people helped guide us smoothly through the process of building our site - and we are thrilled with the outcome!"
Big Orbit is pleased to be helping out a worthy organization such as The Toronto Child Abuse Centre.
"There are so many groups that do great things to help kids, and Big Orbit would love to get involved with them all," comments Karin Seybold, Project Manager for the "Court" site. "Making the online world an informative and entertaining place for kids is what Big Orbit is all about."
Stay tuned for continued "kid-positive" web developments by Big Orbit in the upcoming months!
